Integrity wins evaluation of DANIDA’s Somalia Country Programme
Integrity has been contracted by the Danish Embassy in Nairobi to conduct the Third Party Monitoring and External M&E Support for Somalia Country Programme (SCP) funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
The Programme is a cornerstone of Danish-Somali relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark describes the initiative as follows: “Denmark’s Somalia Country Programme 2015-2018 is giving a coherent framework for delivering development assistance in line with the Denmark-Somalia Partnership Policy and its vision to support the people of Somalia to create a peaceful and stable Somalia through inclusive political processes to further economic and social development… The Country Programme has been developed in consultation with the Federal Government of Somalia, the Government of Somaliland, WB, UN and other partners and donors. It draws on lessons from Denmark’s prior engagements in Somalia. The three thematic programmes will address 1. Governance, 2. Inclusive economic growth and 3. Integrity will be working with Particip and Axiom Monitoring and Evaluation to deliver this project over the course of the next three years. These Monitoring, Evaluating and Learning (MEL) activities aim to help ensure that the SCP results are achieved as planned over the course of its duration. The Programme supports engagements across Somalia in Puntland, Somaliland and South Central Somalia. These geographies often present operational challenges for donors and partners to effectively monitor and evaluate the delivery and impact of these investments due to the high levels of insecurity and threat. Integrity has therefore developed adequate tools and methodologies that propose ways to mitigate these risks.
