Integrity And Care In The Graet Lakes
Integrity’s Head of Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Martine Zeuthen is in Africa’s Great Lakes Region developing recommendations to inform the future strategic direction and implementation of Care Norway’s Great Lakes Advocacy Initiative (GLAI), a three-year project spearheading grass root advocacy against GBV in the region. The consultants are visiting Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, speaking to community activists, political leaders, civil society groups and UN agencies on the subject of gender based violence and how CARE can scale up its grassroots advocacy work to a regional level. The overall objective of GLAI is to contribute to the implementation of international humanitarian and human rights standards that protect the rights of women and girls in post-conflict and conflict situations.
