Independent Evaluation of the Humanitarian Emergency Operations and Stabilisation programme

Integrity is excited to announce that it will be working with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Stabilisation Unit (SU) over the next year and a half (till Dec 22) to provide evaluation support to The Humanitarian Emergency Response Operations and Stabilisation (HEROS).

This flagship programme provides the operational support functions needed to support the UK Government’s response to disasters. It provides 24/7 365 emergency support and response cover and is equipped to support multiple rapid-onset responses simultaneously.

Over the past year, this has included the delivery of relief items to Albania in the wake of the November 2019 earthquake, and a rapid response to the Beirut port explosion in Lebanon in August 2020.

The HEROS programme is largely delivered by the Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team  (HSOT)  via a  contract with  Palladium International. The findings from this evaluation are expected to feed into the design of the ongoing support function to ensure that the UK Government is ready and able to respond whenever and wherever there is a crisis.

Speaking at the project’s inception, Katie Bigmore, Integrity’s Programme Director for this evaluation said, “We look forward to sharing our findings, evidence and learning, and working towards a service that can provide high quality, essential support globally.”
