Conduct analysis to help develop a more equitable remuneration schedule for the various stakeholders in the coffee value chain.

Project Outputs

The goal of the study was to analyse the impact of the new system of remuneration (following the privatisation of coffee) by examining the costs and revenues received by all stakeholders in the coffee value chain. An evaluation of the current system was conducted and a new system of remunerations was proposed. The results of this study included: an analysis of the production costs of the various stakeholders of the coffee sector; an assessment of the current remuneration schedule against the fees established in advance of sales approach, so as to identify the strengths and weaknesses; a more suitable formula for the distribution of revenues derived from green coffee sales; and received buy-in from coffee stakeholders for new schedule through discussion and feedback sessions.
