Conflict Sensitivity Assessment for Primary Healthcare, Lebanon

Conflict Sensitivity Assessment for Primary Healthcare, Lebanon

Conflict Sensitivity Assessment for Primary Healthcare, Lebanon

Date/Duration

2014

Project Objectives

Evaluate access to healthcare and the capacity of healthcare actors to manage social tensions with healthcare structures across Lebanon.

Project Outputs

As part of a larger EU funded initiative to reduce tensions between Lebanese host communities and Syrian refugees through improved healthcare services, Integrity carried out an assessment of access to care in eight Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across Lebanon. This study assessed the perspective of both Syrian and Lebanese patients, and analysed the capacity of key stakeholders (PHC staff, other health providers including relevant international actors) to define, manage and decrease tensions within health structures. Using participatory methods, Integrity engaged with patients, health professionals and officials at the local and country level, and allowed an analytical perspective to be captured and fed into future health programming.
