Giselle Lopez – Senior Data and Knowledge Manager

Giselle is a Senior Data and Knowledge Manager at Integrity based in Washington, DC. In this role, she develops Integrity’s Data and Knowledge Management (DKM) services to clients and across its global team. Giselle works in support of Integrity’s work to generate evidence as the basis for our client programs and interventions. She designs and delivers digital solutions and applications across our various technical services, particularly research and analysis, monitoring, evaluation and learning, project management and implementation, and risk management. Giselle also promotes Integrity’s work in the digital development sphere by building and maintaining strategic relationships with clients, consultants, and partners.

Prior to joining Integrity, Giselle worked for the Creative Development Lab at Creative Associates, where she incorporated technology-enabled solutions in election monitoring, political transitions, citizen security, governance, and countering violent extremism programs. In this role, she led a range of activities, including a training on local asset mapping for youth in the Caribbean, the use of social media and crowdsourcing technology for election monitoring in Iraq and Libya, and the analysis of online narratives surrounding Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin.

As part of PeaceTech Lab at the United States Institute of Peace, Giselle led several programs applying data and social media analytics to the practice and study of peacebuilding, including to monitor hate speech online surrounding the South Sudan conflict. She has organized and led technology workshops in India, Myanmar, Turkey, and Egypt to build capacity for civil society organizations to incorporate low-cost, easy-to-use technology solutions to support their efforts.

Giselle has an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University, where she also led a graduate course titled “Technology for Peacebuilding”, and a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington. She is a Senior Fellow with Humanity in Action.
